Sussex College Ratnapura is one of the renowned English medium schools in Sabaragamuwa Province since 2005. It gained this reputation due to the significant performances and 100% results every year. It is located in the heart of Ratnapura city with green and spectacular surroundings. Currently, the school is functioning LKG to Grade 11 with the plan of starting A/L classes in August 2022.

We are moving with holistic education and the play way method for the pre-grade and lower-level classes to develop sensory and motor skills. The environment, available facilities, and qualified academic staff of the school offer the best updated curricular and co-curricular platform to develop the students’ knowledge, social skills, cultural sensitivity, and humanity We owned a hostel with a home environment and provide the best caring and loving environment for the resident students.

It is with great pride and with immense accomplishment wish to say that we have completed 15 years of Sussex College Kiribathgoda which started off in a small Building back in 2005 with around 19 children and 5 teachers.

We have faced many challenges over the past 15 years but with the help of the Management and the dedicated teachers and administrators we have shown much resilience in weathering all those challenges and have built a lasting legacy for generations to come. The parents and the present students can be proud of the achievements we have accomplished over the past 15 years to make us one of the leading private schools in the entire Island.

Sussex College Kurunegala is located facing Kurunegala Kandy main road surrounded by a range of mountains with a good panoramic view and a salubrious environment.

I am proud to have an efficient and dedicated academic staff to achieve the objectives of the teaching and learning process which leads to the production of good citizens to the country as well as to the international community.

With my assumption of duties as the principal last year I have initiated several self-progressive innovative and motivational programs to improve the knowledge skills and attitudes of the students. Special daily programs have been introduced to improve the speaking and writing skills of the students.

Moreover, our students show their talents in extracurricular activities too. Our athletes have won places in zonal and district-level sports. Gymnastics and chess have been recently introduced and students are interested in practicing them. Likewise, the student-centered education system develops the competencies and skills of the student population which ultimately produce a suitable human resource to the world of work.

Sussex College Galle which was started in 2004 is the hub among the Sussex Colleges in Southern Province, and it takes the leading role in all the events. Passing 15 years of great service given to Galle community, Sussex College Galle is still in the front line. Its convenient location and beautiful surrounding attract students and as well, the set curriculum paves the way for all the students to come to the best level in English Medium Education. Being one of the twenty Sussex Colleges in Sri Lanka, Galle Sussex students always bring honor to alma-mater.

Extracurricular activities also help the students to have balanced education to fulfil their personality traits. Students involve in sports such as Cricket, Football, Badminton, Swimming, Karate, Chess and Athletics too. Every year they bring honor to school being commended in sports competing with the other colleges.

Students engage in all societies held in the college and improve leadership qualities taking different roles. Specially, English Literary Association and Sinhala Literary Association support students to be competent in public speaking. Sussex College Stepped towards its function on 29th September 2005 and it is situated in a conducive environment filled with full of natural beauty of Sabaragamuwa mountain range. The dawn of the day is a certain inspiration for students for their studies.

As the principal of the school I try to uplift the school by using available resources. Since this college owns all the facilities like large playground, Science laboratory, Computer laboratory, and so-on, I can improve the quality of education from the kindergarten to upper level classes. This can be easily achieved because of my educated teacher’s friendly supportive hands.

We launch the children’s quality education according to the vision & mission of Sussex College Network. We devote to pay continuous attention to create true Sri Lankan leaders with a global outlook. Our school was opened on the 16th of November 2005, as Ceylinco Sussex College under the patronage of Mr. K. A. Jayatissa, the founder, and the present Chairman of Sussex College Network. The first Principal of the school was Mr. Jayasinghe and thereafter until the 07th of November 2017, there were two Principals consecutively Mr. S. B. Koswatte and Mr. Lal Perera. Under the guidance of the previous principals our school has achieved several milestones and developed in number and teaching quality.

We are the pioneers of Kegalle district in English medium education, in the local curriculum from Nursery to Grade 11. Day by day we are developing our education models and teaching quality by giving necessary training to our teachers. It’s with pleasure to say that we have completed 16 years of renowned service to Ruhunu community. The Sussex College Matara is at a prime location, No 135, Rahula Road, Matara, direct in front of Rahula College. There is only a walking distance to Nupe junction which is on Galle - Matara main road.

Under the proper guidance of qualified staff, we have become the pioneers of English medium education in the area. Parents appreciate the teachers for their commitment and dedication in caring about the students’ progress, not only in the best education but also in co-curricular activities. Every year we conduct the programmes such as the Annual sports meet, New year festival, multi-religious programs, Prefect Investiture, Independence Day celebration, etc for giving the priority to the discipline and character moulding of the students.

This is a school with only 13 years short history, located right in front of the beautiful lake of Ampara city, alongside the Kandy Road, with 500 m distance from its main bus stand and, away from about 350 km from the Capital, Colombo.

Though the school is small, in addition to excellent performance in academic work, our students have achieved national level performance in various extracurricular activities such as sports and aesthetic championships. Also, the 100% of our first O/Level batch have got through the specific examination last year (2019). The school is comprised with cultural diversity while the ethnic diversity too is currently being spearheaded. We have a very efficient Prefects Guild, smart student body coupled with an eminent staff capable in various required disciplines.

We have planned various programmes not only for the internal students but also for the outsiders. The Cambridge, Elocution and Professional English courses; counselling, leadership and teacher training opportunities; sports, aesthetic and English speaking clubs in addition to Language Laboratory facilities are some of those. Though the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has caused a little delay in functioning certain areas there currently, we conduct all the academic work unceasingly online under current health regulations and the guidance of the SCN.
